Is the WEST-B math test hard? The math on the WEST-B Educator exam won't seem hard if you're thoroughly prepared. To build confidence, use an online WEST-B prep course instead of a book.

Suggested Study Method. One study method that many students have found to be effective is "PQ4R," or "Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review." To use this method to study for the WEST–B, you may decide to study for each of the three subtests separately.

WEST Tests

Test results are calculated as scaled scores in a range from 100 to 300, with a score of 240 representing the minimum passing score. If your total test scaled score is 240 or above, you have passed the test or subtest. Your total test score is based on your performance on all sections of the test or subtest.

A score of 160 or above is considered a “pass” and students with that score will receive the Cambridge First Certificate, which corresponds to a level B2 in English on the CEFR. Students scoring 180 or above on the B2 First will receive a Cambridge English Certificate for level C1.

You receive your test scores immediately, with the exception of the WEST-B Writing test, which takes 4-6 weeks to be scored. Passing test scores do not expire.
