Mavericks' Olivier-Maxence Prosper: Gets garbage-time run in Game 4

    4h ago

Prosper posted zero points (0-2 FG), two rebounds and one assist in five minutes Friday in the Mavericks' 122-84 win over the Celtics in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

Prosper sprained his ankle in a practice prior to Game 4 of the Mavericks' first-round series with the Clippers and had been sidelined for multiple weeks before being cleared to play ahead of Game 1 of the NBA Finals. He didn't see any action in either of the first three games of the series, but with Friday's contest turning into a rout by the end of the third quarter, Prosper was able to make his NBA Finals debut in garbage time.

  • Kyrie Irving DAL PG

Irving accumulated 21 points (10-18 FG, 1-6 3Pt), four rebounds and six assists over 31 minutes during Friday's 122-84 win over the Celtics in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

Luka Doncic was the best player for the Mavericks in this Game 4 victory, but Irving posted a strong line as well. The veteran floor general reached the 20-point plateau for the second consecutive contest, and he'll need to be at his best if the Mavericks want to pull off the upset in Game 5 of the series Monday. Irving is averaging 21.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in the series.

  • Dereck Lively II DAL C

    Mavericks' Dereck Lively: Another double-double

    16h ago

Lively contributed 11 points (4-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 12 rebounds and one steal across 22 minutes during Friday's 122-84 victory over the Celtics in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

Lively has been coming off the bench, but he's made a substantial impact on both ends of the court. The rookie out of Duke owned the paint and was a massive factor in the rebounding battle that saw the Mavericks dominate the contest. Lively is the first rookie to record multiple double-doubles in the NBA Finals since Magic Johnson in 1980.

  • Luka Doncic DAL PG

Mavericks' Luka Doncic: Scores 29 despite shooting woes

    16h ago

Doncic accumulated 29 points (12-26 FG, 0-8 3Pt, 5-7 FT), five rebounds, five assists and three steals over 33 minutes during Friday's 122-84 win over Boston in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

Doncic had another rough showing from a shooting perspective, needing 26 shots to score 29 points and missing all eight of his three-point attempts, but he still led Dallas in scoring as the Mavericks kept themselves alive for at least one more game. Doncic has surpassed the 25-point mark in 11 consecutive games during the current playoff run and is expected to play a prominent role for the Mavericks in Game 5 of the series Monday, as he'll probably have to lead the team again if the Mavericks are to pull off an upset at TD Garden.

  • Sam Hauser BOS SF

Celtics' Sam Hauser: Scores 14 points in Game 4 loss

    16h ago

Hauser provided 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-6 3Pt) and four rebounds across 20 minutes during Friday's 122-84 loss to the Mavericks in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

The fact that Hauser was among the Celtics' scoring leaders in a potential title-clinching game of the NBA Finals tells you all you need to know about Boston's offense in this loss. Boston was atrocious on offense and couldn't get things going throughout the contest, but Hauser at least provided a spark with his three-point shooting. Hauser is not expected to play a prominent role for Boston offensively in the rest of the series.

  • Jaylen Brown BOS SF

Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Struggles from field Friday

    16h ago

Brown closed with 10 points (3-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), one rebound and two assists across 27 minutes during Friday's 122-84 loss to the Mavericks in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

The Celtics suffered one of the worst losses in NBA Finals history. Brown had a rough showing on both ends of the court and struggled massively from the floor, ending with more field-goal attempts than points scored. Brown is among the Boston players who will look to bounce back quickly, with Game 5 -- and a potential title-clinching win in front of the Celtics' fans at TD Garden -- awaiting Monday.
