4-star PG eyes Syracuse basketball visit, poised for rankings jump, offer sheet soars (2024)

Keyshuan Tillery, a 2025 four-star point guard who holds a Syracuse basketball offer and has unofficially visited the 'Cuse, has proven a lights-out performer this spring on the AAU circuit, serving as the floor general of one of the top teams in Nike's EYBL league.

These days, the 6-foot-1 Tillery is likely one of three top targets for the Orange staff in the 2025 class at the point guard/combo guard positions.

The Albany, N.Y., native, as he has crushed things on the EYBL circuit, has seen his offer sheet significantly grow in recent weeks, and recruiting analysts project that Tillery is poised for a big jump at some point in the national rankings for his class.

In AAU, Tillery is a star with the Albany, N.Y.-based City Rocks, a program that over the years has sent numerous of its players to the Hill for college. He's also a standout rising senior at the New Hampton School in New Hampton, N.H.

Late last month, at the EYBL's latest spring session in Kansas City, Mo., Tillery was deemed a top performer by various national analysts and scouts. Earlier in May, when the EYBL held a session in Indianapolis amid an NCAA live period, Orange head coach Adrian Autry was in attendance for at least one City Rocks encounter, per media reports.

Up next on the EYBL circuit is the annual season-ending Peach Jam tournament, which takes place from July 13 to July 21 in North Augusta, S.C. With a regular-season record of 11-4, the City Rocks will be among the favorites to cut down the nets at the Peach Jam.

According to recruiting services, Tillery has amassed more than 20 scholarship offers. Dating back to mid-May, he has landed newer offers from schools such as Rutgers, Tennessee, Georgetown, Wake Forest, DePaul, Iowa, Cincinnati, Ohio State and Florida, per recruiting Web sites and his X page.

Earlier offers in Tillery's recruitment arrived from teams including Northwestern, Albany, UMBC, Georgia Tech, North Carolina A&T, Hampton, Bryant, Temple, Washington, Wyoming, UMass and St. Bonaventure.

In late August of last year, Tillery took an unofficial visit to the 'Cuse to play in the Orange's annual Elite Camp. It was around that time that the Syracuse basketball staff offered him a scholarship.

In a recent interview with top writer Sam Lance on zagsblog.com, Tillery said that as it pertains to the 'Cuse, he hears the most from assistant coach Dan Engelstad.

To date, Tillery's only official visit has been to Northwestern. He told Lance that the squads in the most frequent contact with him are Northwestern, Syracuse basketball, Florida, Villanova, Temple, Rutgers and Wyoming.

The zagsblog.com story notes that Tillery is eyeing possible upcoming visits to Rutgers, the Orange, Florida, Temple and Wyoming.

Currently, multiple recruiting services rate Tillery, within his class, as a top-150 national prospect and a top-25 point guard. However, based on his AAU play and comments from analysts, I envision Tillery moving inside the top 100 sooner rather than later.

As far as I can tell, besides Tillery, the 'Cuse is pursuing two other 2025 point guards/combo guards hard these days. They are four-star Tyler Jackson from Baltimore, who officially visited the Orange in late January of this year, and four-star Acaden Lewis from Washington, D.C., who has said he plans to visit Syracuse basketball soon.

The 'Cuse staff offered a scholarship to Jackson in late April of last year. Lewis secured his Orange offer in late April of this year.
